The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is perfect for those who do not have enough time for a long trek, those who are first-time trekkers, and simply anyone who has an appreciation for the mountains! The trek is short, but leaves you fully satisfied and ready to take on your next Himalayan adventure. The trail leads to the Poon Hill Viewpoint (3210 meters), where you are exposed to the breathtaking peaks of Annapurna (8091 meters), Hiuchuli (6441 meters), Machhapuchhre (6993 meters), Dhaulagiri (8167 meters), Manaslu (8156 meters), and more. To make this spectacular view even better, we wake up before the sunrise to watch the glowing sun illuminate the snow-white peaks.
Throughout the foothill excursion, enjoy the incredible hospitality of the locals. Many of the villagers belong the Gurung ethnic group, particularly in Ghandruk, the second largest Gurung settlement in Nepal. Learn about the villagers’ day to day routine, their rituals, festivals, etc. People go trekking for the mountain views, but it is the kindhearted people that bring people back. After the trek, we head back to Pokhara to chill out by the lakeside and enjoy some sightseeing.
Our Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek package includes a full day of sightseeing in Pokhara and Kathmandu. We guide you to the cities’ famous heritage spots and our knowledgeable guide will give you the lowdown on each place’s significance. This trek is an awesome combination of exploration into Nepal’s natural as well as cultural beauty and diversity.
The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is the best choice if you are on a time crunch. Most people visiting Nepal do not have several weeks to spend on the trail. However, every single person visiting our beautiful country should take the chance to see the Himalayas. For this reason, the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is perfect. In less than 4 full days of trekking, you will find yourself face to face with some of the highest mountain peaks in the world.
Book the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek all throughout the year. Though the trek is available anytime, certain seasons provide the best weather. In the springtime (March to May), the rhododendrons are blooming and scenery is lush. During autumn (September to November), skies are clearest and mountain views are best. Summer (rainy season) and winter do not provide the best trekking conditions, but on the other hand, you can enjoy more solitude on the trail. If you have any questions, please contact us!
Back in 2014 we spent 5 unforgettable days in beautiful Nepal - Ghorepani Poon Hill. We had only a few days to spend but wanted to see as much as possible and Ngima made it all happen. He organised everything in advance and took care of us from landing in Kathmandu till the very end of our trip. The lodges were all clean and tidy, the food was quite delicious, so fresh and organic. We fell in love with the magnificent nature of the Himalaya and the Nepali people - all of them were so polite, kind-hearted and devoted. We even had time for sightseeing in Kathmandu. We recommended Ngima and his team to all of our friends and colleagues and would highly recommend him to everyone! This trip was a dream come true for us and Ngima made it so well organised and pleasant with his professionalism, devotion, love of his country and kind heart! The only thing we didn't like is that we had to leave beautiful Nepal :-( But we had made a new friend there - Ngima ... and we will definitely visit him and majestic Nepal again!!!
